Loadpoint Bearings Change of Management

On the 1st April 2006 John Sweet Senior resigned as Managing Director of Loadpoint Bearings Ltd, 67 Haviland Road, Ferndown Industrial Estate, Wimborne, Dorset BH21 7PY www.loadpoint-bearings.co.uk. Loadpoint Bearings was formed in January 1990 when Loadpoint Ltd of Chelworth Industrial Estate, Cricklade, Swindon, Wilts SN6 6HE www.loadpoint.co.uk acquired the entire air bearing business from Brammar P.L.C.

Prior to 1990 the business was trading as Pope Inc. out of Boston, U.S.A ; the original company having started as Precision Rotors Dorset Ltd in 1980. John Sweet, one of the original founders and financial backers of Precision Rotors Dorset in 1980, will continue as a director of Loadpoint Bearings Ltd.

In 1990 the management of the new subsidary company, Loadpoint Bearings Ltd, suffered a major set back due to the death of its Chief Design Director and retirement of other directors.

To fill the major position Tony Snow moved from Loadpoint Ltd at Cricklade, Swindon to the Ferndown factory, and took on the general management of the air bearings design and manufacture.

As from April 1st 2006 Tony Snow is the Managing Director of Loadpoint Bearings Ltd.

At the same time David Gilham was appointed a Director of Loadpoint Bearings Ltd. David’s association with the Company goes back to 1984 and he is responsible for the development and design of the Companies complete range of products.

Tony and David are now both major shareholders in the Loadpoint Bearings Ltd; Loadpoint Ltd retaining a 60% holding.

On the 1st of May 2006 Dr. Frank Wardle left Loadpoint Ltd at Cricklade after 11 years of development of air bearing design, and implementation of electro chemical machining techniques. He will continue to act for the Loadpoint Companies as a consultant. He intends to concentrate on pure research in conjunction with major academic institutions and companies. He is currently working with Brunel University on the MASMICRO machine development. This 20 million Euro project which incorporates 34 European institutions and companies is headed up by Strathclyde University. Loadpoint Ltd has, for the last two years, been involved in the development and design of the major mechanical requirements for this project; they have now withdrawn from the project. It is possible Loadpoint Bearings Ltd will provide the air bearing requirements for this machine.

We also announce the return of Jon Parkes to the companies. Jon has spent the last four years in the Far East. Jon will be concentrating his efforts on sales of Loadpoint Bearings complete range of products in the Far East.
